President Yoweri Museveni recently welcomed acclaimed Hollywood actor and international artiste Tyrese Gibson to Uganda for discussions at State House. The meeting centered on several key areas, including the vibrant creative arts industry, boosting tourism, and exploring the profound shared history and heritage connecting Africa and African Americans.
During the engagement, President Museveni highlighted Uganda’s four main sectors of socio-economic transformation. He emphasized the significant role international artistes like Gibson can play within the burgeoning services sector and discussed potential opportunities for contributing to Uganda’s overall development.
Gibson, widely recognized for his role in the popular “Fast and Furious” film franchise, is also a multi-talented individual with experience as a songwriter, author, television producer, and model. His visit signifies Uganda’s growing appeal to international creative figures.
This meeting follows a pattern of President Museveni engaging with global artistes to discuss development and investment. Notably, in 2021, Senegalese-American musician Akon and his wife visited Uganda to explore various investment ventures with the President.
