A domestic dispute over a strained relationship allegedly pushed Dorothy Wamwoyo, 43, to commit a heinous act in her Ggaba home, resulting in the death of two of her five children and severe injuries to three others. Investigators revealed that the violence, which involved knives, sleeping pills, and petrol, was the culmination of weeks of planning by Wamwoyo.
The turmoil in Wamwoyo’s life reportedly stemmed from her partner, Edirisa Traore, a West African, dividing his time between her and a newlywed wife. This arrangement left Wamwoyo feeling like a “third wheel” and increasingly distressed. The situation escalated when Traore proposed moving their daughters to a different school, a move Wamwoyo opposed.
Following a heated argument with Traore, during which she was allegedly assaulted, Wamwoyo put her plan into motion. She purchased knives and petrol, then administered sleeping pills to her daughters before attacking them. She later set fire to their vehicle. Neighbours, alerted by the sounds of distress, intervened, leading to the rescue of Wamwoyo and her surviving children. Two children were confirmed dead upon arrival at the hospital, while the injured were treated for their wounds.
Wamwoyo, a Kenyan national, had a history of relationship issues with Traore, who she met in 2011.
