Kisoro District Chairman Richard Ndyana Survives Road Accident

Kisoro District Local Council V Chairman, Richard Ndyana, has miraculously survived a serious road accident that occurred on Tuesday evening along the Kabale-Kisoro highway in Rubanda District. The incident took place around 7:40 PM in Hamuko Village, Muko Sub-county.
According to Kigezi Regional Police spokesperson Nelson Tumushime, the vehicle, a Toyota Hilux Double Cabin pickup truck registered as UG 3400392 and belonging to the Kisoro District Local Government, was traveling from Kabale towards Kisoro. The driver reportedly failed to negotiate a sharp bend, causing the vehicle to overturn multiple times.
Mr. Ndyana, along with two other unidentified individuals, sustained serious injuries and were rushed to Kisoro Hospital for immediate medical attention. Kisoro District Vice Chairman Joseph Rukema confirmed that Mr. Ndyana was returning from a meeting at the Presidential Industrial Hub in Kabale when the crash happened. Rukema visited Ndyana at the hospital and noted he was in significant pain.
However, Kisoro Hospital medical superintendent Emmanuel Bahane provided an update on Wednesday, stating that Mr. Ndyana is no longer in danger. “Mr. Ndyana is out of danger. He sustained soft tissue injuries on the head and other body parts, which we treated,” Dr. Bahane explained.
Police are using this incident to remind motorists of the dangers on the Kabale-Rubanda-Kisoro highway, particularly its sharp corners. They urge drivers to adhere to speed limits, refrain from driving under the influence of alcohol, and take necessary breaks to avoid fatigue.
