King Oyo is alive but unwell, Minister Balaam confirms

Social media was recently abuzz with unconfirmed reports suggesting the demise of King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV of Tooro. However, Minister Balaam Barugahara has officially stepped in to quell these alarming rumors.

In a statement released on Thursday, Minister Balaam confirmed that the 34-year-old monarch is indeed alive. He clarified that King Oyo is currently unwell and undergoing medical management in the United States of America.

The minister emphasized the need for unity and prayer during this challenging time. He urged Ugandans and all well-wishers to focus their energy on praying for the King’s swift and complete recovery, rather than spreading unverified information.

“At this time, let us unite as Ugandans and people of goodwill in prayer for His Majesty. We pray for God’s healing hand, strength, comfort and a miraculous recovery,” stated Minister Balaam.

This announcement marks the most direct confirmation to date that King Oyo is receiving medical treatment abroad. It follows previous denials from Tooro Kingdom regarding reports of his critical illness and cancer treatment earlier this month. At that time, the Kingdom stated the King was abroad for official duties and further studies, urging reliance on official communication channels.
