Tooro Kingdom Prays for King Oyo amid Critical Health Update

The Kingdom of Tooro has released a statement confirming the critical health status of its monarch, Omukama Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV. The announcement was made by the Kingdom’s Prime Minister, Calvin Armstrong Rwomiire Akiiki, on Thursday, August 27, 2026.

In the official communication, shared via X (formerly Twitter), Prime Minister Rwomiire conveyed the gravity of the 34-year-old King’s condition. “His Majesty King Oyo is currently in a critical condition,” the statement read, appealing to the people of Tooro, and supporters globally, to keep the King in their thoughts and prayers during this “difficult and deeply concerning time.”

King Oyo, who ascended to the throne at the remarkably young age of three, has reigned for over three decades. He holds the distinction of being the world’s youngest reigning monarch at the time of his coronation.

The Prime Minister also strongly cautioned against the proliferation of unverified information and the potential for public panic. “We equally appeal to everyone to refrain from speculation, rumours or sharing unverified information regarding His Majesty’s condition,” Rwomiire urged. He stressed the importance of maintaining calm and showing respect for the King and the Royal Family.
