For some, certain foods carry strong cultural connotations, and for the author, mutton was one of them. Growing up in Uganda, mutton was often associated with specific community practices, making it a dish they had always steered clear of. This personal barrier to trying mutton was a long-standing one, until a visit to the Middle East Restaurant in Kampala.
