UPDF, Rwanda, CAR Officers Enhance Logistics Skills at Magamaga College

The College of Logistics and Engineering in Magamaga has graduated a diverse group of military personnel, including those from the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF), Rwanda Defence Force, and the Central African Republic Armed Forces. The intensive five-month training program aimed to equip officers with critical skills in logistics, medical logistics, finance, and arms maintenance.
Several specialized courses were concluded, including the Basic Medical Logistics Management Course, the Basic Logistics Management Course for Central African Republic officers, the Battalion Arms Technicians Course, and the Basic Finance Officers Course. The graduation highlighted the college’s role in fostering regional military cooperation and enhancing professional development.
Colonel Chris Kyanku, the college commandant, lauded the graduates for their discipline and commitment, emphasizing the institution’s dedication to maintaining high training standards. He noted that the continued international trust in the college underscores its credibility as a premier training facility.
Lt. Col. Emmanuel Arinaitwe, representing the Chief of Joint Staff Medical Services, stressed the vital importance of medical logistics in military operations, extending beyond mere supply distribution to resource safeguarding and waste prevention. Maj. Gen. Robert Mugabe, Joint Staff Finance and the chief guest, congratulated the graduands, recognizing their dedication and the collaborative effort of instructors and support staff in achieving this milestone.
Maj. Gen. Mugabe also underscored the fundamental principle of accountability for all logistics, finance, and technical roles, urging the graduates to apply their acquired knowledge diligently and professionally in their respective service environments. The training underscores Uganda’s commitment to enhancing the operational readiness and professional capabilities of allied forces.
