Super Supreme Mufti Urges Kassanda Residents to Prioritize Daily Cleanliness

The Super Supreme Mufti of Uganda, Sheikh Muhammad Galabuzi, has made a strong appeal to Ugandans to integrate cleanliness into their daily routines, beginning with their own homes and expanding to their immediate surroundings and communities.
Sheikh Galabuzi articulated this message in Kassanda District while participating alongside local leaders and residents in a community cleaning initiative. This activity is part of the government’s “Bulungi bwansi” (community self-help) program.
The Mufti was joined by notable figures including Hajji Abdul Bisaso, the Member of Parliament for Kassanda South, and Drake Ssembuusi, the Kassanda District LCV Chairperson. Residents from various parts of Kassanda turned out in support, with the exercise commencing at Kiganda Health Centre IV.
Galabuzi lauded the community’s enthusiastic response to the cleanliness drive, remarking, “I thank the people of Kassanda for embracing this cleaning exercise. Cleanliness should not only be done when leaders are present; it should start from our homes and continue in our communities.”
He further stressed personal accountability, stating, “Let us begin cleanliness from our homes. When every family keeps its home clean, the entire community will become clean.” He highlighted that a tidy environment directly contributes to healthier living conditions for everyone.
Following the cleaning exercise, Sheikh Galabuzi proceeded to Kiganda Health Centre IV to gain firsthand understanding of its operational status and any challenges it faces. The health center’s administration expressed their appreciation for the visit, seeing it as a valuable opportunity to articulate their needs.
“We appreciate the Mufti for visiting our facility. His visit has given us an opportunity to explain some of the challenges we are facing,” said Jude Kizza, the facility in-charge, expressing hope that the Mufti’s intervention could help draw attention and support for the health center’s requirements.
