72 Immigration Officers Elevated, Urged Towards Enhanced Professionalism

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has recognized the dedication of 72 officers from the Directorate of Citizenship and Immigration Control through a series of promotions. The move aims to bolster the department’s capacity and encourage a higher standard of service.

During a formal pipping ceremony, Chief Government Chemist Kepher Kuchana, representing the Permanent Secretary, congratulated the officers on their advancement. He noted that the promotions serve as a direct acknowledgment of their diligence, commitment, and valuable contributions to public service.

The newly promoted officers comprise one Assistant Commissioner, 28 Senior Immigration Officers, 22 Immigration Officers, and 21 Immigration Assistants. This diverse group will now assume greater responsibilities within the directorate.

Kuchana stressed the importance of maintaining high ethical standards in their new capacities. He urged the officers to serve with unwavering integrity, accountability, and efficiency, always prioritizing the public’s interests. “As you take on these new responsibilities, we expect you to serve with professionalism, integrity and dedication, while putting the interests of the public first,” he stated.

The Ministry extended its congratulations and encouraged the promoted officers to leverage their new positions to significantly improve service delivery and strengthen the overall effectiveness of the immigration department. The ceremony formally marked their transition into higher ranks, equipping them to continue their service in enhanced capacities.
