Napak Truck Accident Claims Five Lives After Tyre Burst

A devastating road accident in Napak district has resulted in the deaths of five people and left several others injured. Tragedy struck on the Moroto-Soroti highway in Napak district on Saturday evening, claiming the lives of five individuals. The accident happened around 5:30 PM in Lodoon village, Lorengechora sub-county.

According to police reports, a truck, identified by its registration number UBH 543U, was en route from Moroto to Soroti when a front tyre suddenly burst. This catastrophic failure led the driver to lose control of the vehicle.

The truck subsequently veered off the road and overturned multiple times. Sadly, five occupants of the truck died at the scene. Several other passengers sustained injuries and were transported for medical treatment.

Eyewitness accounts and preliminary police findings indicate that the truck was carrying both passengers and cows at the time of the crash. The bodies of the deceased have been taken to the mortuary for postmortem examinations, and authorities are continuing their investigation into the precise circumstances surrounding the fatal incident.
