Uganda has a rich pool of creative talent, but a significant challenge has persisted: helping these individuals transition from artistic creation to sustainable careers.
Recognizing this, Creator Academy is set to launch in Kampala, aiming to equip filmmakers, musicians, writers, and other artists with the essential business acumen and entrepreneurial skills required to navigate the industry beyond the initial production phase.
The academy’s curriculum is designed to tackle common post-studio hurdles, including marketing, intellectual property rights, financial management, and building a brand. The goal is to foster a more robust and self-sufficient creative economy in Uganda.
Many artists excel in their craft but lack the knowledge to effectively monetize their work, secure funding, or manage their professional lives. Creator Academy intends to fill this void, empowering creatives to build sustainable businesses around their talents.
By providing practical training and mentorship, the academy hopes to see a new wave of successful Ugandan creative entrepreneurs who can compete on both local and international stages, transforming creative potential into lasting economic impact.
