Major Seth Kamutera Ngabirano has officially assumed the role of Board Secretary at Wazalendo Savings and Credit Cooperative Society (WSACCO), taking over from Captain Abel Mwesigye, who had been serving in an acting capacity.
The handover ceremony, held on September 1st and presided over by Brig. Gen. Gaetano Omola, Vice Chairman of the WSACCO Board of Directors, marked a significant leadership transition for the rapidly growing SACCO.
Brig. Gen. Omola emphasized the importance of continuity and strengthening the institution during leadership changes. He urged Maj. Ngabirano to build upon the work of his predecessor and highlighted the need for humility, transparency, and unwavering commitment in leadership roles. The focus remains on ensuring the SACCO’s continued growth and safeguarding its achievements.
WSACCO CEO, Brig. Gen. Yusuf Magero Buha, commended Capt. Mwesigye for his valuable contributions and wished him success in his future endeavors, encouraging him to remain an ambassador for the SACCO.
Maj. Ngabirano pledged to execute his new responsibilities with dedication and professionalism, prioritizing the interests of WSACCO and its members. He acknowledged Capt. Mwesigye’s contributions and expressed his commitment to working collaboratively with the board, management, and stakeholders.

The SACCO’s loan portfolio stands at about Shs1.14 trillion, serving over 117,171 active members.
