Jinja SS Clinch Fifth National Schools Cricket Title After Comeback Win

Jinja Senior Secondary School (Jinja SS) demonstrated remarkable resilience to claim their fifth National Schools Cricket Association (NSCA) title, staging a comeback victory against Makerere College School in the championship match.

The final, held at the Kyambogo Oval, saw Jinja SS experience an early wobble, losing crucial wickets and finding themselves in a precarious position. However, the team regrouped, showcasing their grit and determination to turn the tide.

Skipper Innocent Musinguzi was instrumental in the recovery, leading from the front with a composed performance that inspired his teammates. His crucial knocks, alongside contributions from other players, helped Jinja SS set a competitive target.

Makerere College School, despite a strong start, eventually faltered under pressure from Jinja SS’s disciplined bowling and sharp fielding in the latter stages of the game. The shift in momentum was palpable as Jinja SS tightened their grip on the match.
