Prominent events promoter Abitex has declared that NBS Television and Sanyuka TV will no longer be permitted to cover his functions. In a recent interview, Abitex expressed his belief that he is not reliant on these two media outlets for promoting his shows.
He asserted that the current media landscape offers numerous alternative platforms for promoters to reach the public and advertise their events effectively. “I have since banned NBS and Sanyuka Television. There are a lot of different houses I can use to put out my messages. I have banned them from covering my events,” Abitex stated.
He further added that he doesn’t feel the need for their services, suggesting a mutual dependence where he believes he can succeed without their coverage. “I don’t need anything from them. They need me, and I need them, but I think I can survive without them,” he explained.
Additionally, Abitex leveled an accusation against NBS, claiming the station denied singer Lydia Jazmine a slot on its “Power Play” program. According to Abitex, this decision was purportedly made because Jazmine refused to perform for free at a station event. This claim regarding Lydia Jazmine was made by Abitex and has not been independently verified.
