Col. Nakalema Encourages Makerere Students to Embrace Faith in Jesus Christ

Colonel Edith Nakalema, head of the State House Investors Protection Unit, has urged students at Makerere University to build their lives on the foundation of Jesus Christ. Speaking at a fellowship held at St. Francis Chapel, Nakalema shared the gospel message, highlighting the role of Christian faith in navigating the challenges and social pressures faced by young people.

During her address, Nakalema referenced Hebrews 13:8, describing Jesus Christ as “the same yesterday, today and forever.” She encouraged the congregation, which included students and parents, to view Christ as a constant source of guidance and hope, an “everlasting Anchor” who offers salvation, preservation, and satisfaction.

Nakalema expressed her encouragement at the number of young people who dedicated their lives to Christ during the fellowship. She asserted that a generation grounded in Christian faith is better equipped to withstand external influences that might compromise their values. “When a generation is anchored in the saving grace of Jesus Christ, it cannot be easily drifted away by worldly pressures,” she stated.

She further encouraged the students and the broader university community to engage in discipleship and to accept Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. Nakalema concluded by thanking the Chaplain of St. Francis Chapel, Rev. Dr. Lydia Kitayimbwa, along with the clergy, students, university management, and the chapel community for hosting the event.
