Salam TV Gears Up for Eastern Region Omumanyi Finals in Mbale

Salam TV is finalizing arrangements for the Eastern Region finals of the seventh edition of its “Omumanyi Wa Salam TV” quiz competition. The climactic event is scheduled for October 3, 2026, and will be hosted at the Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) Main Campus in Mbale.

A key strategy meeting was convened in Mbale, bringing together the Salam TV leadership, including Managing Director Hajji Kaliisa, and the Eastern Region Executive Committee. The discussions centered on ensuring the smooth execution of the finals and maximizing the competition’s reach across districts such as Mbale, Busia, Bukedea, Tororo, and Soroti.

Further engagements involved the IUIU Guild President’s Committee, with the aim of mobilizing student participation and broader stakeholder involvement. Hajji Kaliisa presented the official Omumanyi Wa Salam TV guidebook to Guild President Kaale Muhamood. This guide outlines the syllabus and key topics from which competition questions will be drawn.

IUIU FM 93.1 has been appointed as the official media partner for the Eastern Region finals. The “Omumanyi Wa Salam TV” competition, established in 2021, aims to foster learning and knowledge by testing participants on theology, current affairs, general knowledge, and East African history.

Previous editions have offered significant prizes, including cars, trips to Makkah and Madinah, land titles, motorcycles, and cash. The seventh edition began in the Busoga region, with Hassan Yiga emerging as the winner. This edition features a simplified approach with the introduction of a comprehensive guidebook to aid participants.

Minister Lydia Wanyoto is expected to grace the event as the chief guest. Organizers are also inviting sponsors and partners to support the competition, highlighting it as an opportunity for business promotion and community empowerment through education.
