32nd Uganda International Trade Fair to Feature "Black Deals" and Manufacturing Innovations

The Uganda Manufacturers Association (UMA) is set to host the 32nd Uganda International Trade Fair, a ten-day event commencing on October 2nd and concluding on October 11th at the UMA Showgrounds in Lugogo. This year’s fair is emphasizing trade, innovation, and local production, promising a significant boost for consumers and industries alike.

A major draw for attendees will be the inaugural “Black Deals,” a special section dedicated to offering thousands of verified products at reduced prices. Consumers can expect discounts across a wide range of categories, including construction materials, food and beverages, cosmetics, electronics, home appliances, vehicles, and machinery.

Beyond consumer deals, the fair will also focus on industrial advancements. UMA is highlighting innovations designed to address critical challenges in logistics and manufacturing. Among these are new designs for refrigerated trucks to improve the transport of agricultural produce and raw materials, as well as heavy trailers developed to support the mineral beneficiation sector by easing the movement of minerals from mines to processing plants.

These innovations, according to UMA Executive Director Ezra Muhumuza Rubanda, are part of manufacturers’ commitment to contributing to Uganda’s industrialization and national growth strategy through value addition and the adoption of science and technology.

The trade fair will feature specialized pavilions for sectors such as agriculture, education, and health. Attendees can explore new technologies, farming methods, and value-addition solutions in agriculture. The education pavilion will provide a platform for students to showcase innovative practical solutions for various industries, while the health pavilion will offer free medical check-ups and wellness services.

Government agencies and private sector service providers will also be present, offering essential business services. Entry to the fair is set at Shs10,000 per person, with organizers encouraging widespread participation to support local industries and explore new opportunities.
