The Uganda Manufacturers Association (UMA) is gearing up for the 32nd Uganda International Trade Fair, a 10-day event scheduled from October 2nd to October 11th, 2026, at the UMA Showgrounds in Lugogo. This year’s fair places a strong emphasis on local manufacturing, trade, and technological advancements.
A significant highlight is the introduction of ‘Black Deals,’ a new initiative offering consumers access to more than 4,000 verified products from local manufacturers and distributors at reduced prices. These discounts will span a wide range of goods, including construction materials, food and beverages, cosmetics, electronics, and machinery.
Beyond the consumer-focused deals, the trade fair will spotlight innovations designed to tackle industrial challenges within Uganda. UMA Executive Director Ezra Muhumuza Rubanda highlighted a focus on improving transport and logistics, particularly for the agricultural and mineral sectors. Attendees can expect to see innovations such as refrigerated trucks for perishable goods and heavy trailers designed to support mineral beneficiation by facilitating the transport of minerals from mining sites.
These advancements are part of a broader effort by manufacturers to contribute to Uganda’s industrialization and economic growth through value addition and the adoption of science and technology.
The event will also feature specialized pavilions dedicated to agriculture, education, and health. The education section will showcase student innovations, while the health pavilion will offer free medical check-ups and wellness services. Various government agencies and private sector service providers will be present to offer information on business registration, utilities, and financial services.
UMA Board Chairperson Aga Sekalala described the fair as a representation of Uganda’s ambition to bolster its manufacturing sector and secure its economic future. Entry to the trade fair is priced at Shs10,000 per person.
This edition aims to connect manufacturers directly with consumers, foster business-to-business relationships, and promote locally made products and services.
