Ambrosoli Sailfish Masters Secure Third Consecutive Gala Title

Ambrosoli Sailfish Masters have once again asserted their dominance in the local swimming scene, securing their third consecutive victory at the annual Sailfish Masters Swimming Gala. The event, hosted at their home base at Ambrosoli International School in Bugolobi, saw the team amass 2,166 points, comfortably outpacing their closest rivals, Formidables Swim Club, who finished with 1,923 points. Malta Swimming Club secured third place with 712 points, followed by Makerere University Swim Team and Gators Swim Club Kampala.

The hosts showcased their strength particularly in the women’s standings, where they garnered 1,177 points, more than double that of the second-placed Malta. Ambrosoli Sailfish also triumphed in four of the six relay races, including the mixed medley and freestyle, as well as the men’s medley and women’s freestyle events. However, Formidables Swim Club held a strong lead in the men’s competition, driven by the depth of their squad across different age categories.

The gala, which attracted over 240 swimmers from 14 clubs, was dedicated to promoting water safety, enjoyment, and fitness among swimmers aged 25 and above. Individual accolades were awarded across various age groups, with notable performances from Resty Kiwuka of Flash and Joel Mayengo of Formidables in the 25-29 age bracket. Ambrosoli Sailfish swimmers also made their mark, with William Muloopa contributing to the team’s success in the 35-39 men’s group, and coach Joseph Kabogoza demonstrating his own swimming prowess in the 40-44 men’s category. Several swimmers achieved perfect scores, highlighting the high level of competition.

The event was supported by a range of sponsors, including Ambrosoli International School, 7 Hills International School, Kawowo Sports, ROKO, Utano Health Solutions, and Yako Bank, underscoring the community’s commitment to promoting aquatic sports and fitness.
