Minister Nameere Backs Muhoozi's 2031 Presidential Ambitions

State Minister for Local Government, Justine Nameere, has thrown her support behind General Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s aspirations for the presidency in 2031. Nameere asserted that the perception of Muhoozi as simply the son of the current president should not disqualify him from seeking the nation’s highest office.

Nameere highlighted Gen. Muhoozi’s leadership experience, particularly citing his service within the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF). She also credited him with spearheading renewed efforts to combat corruption within the country.

According to the minister, her endorsement is rooted in Muhoozi’s demonstrated leadership qualities and vision for Uganda. She stated that her belief in his potential to lead the nation predates his current presidential ambitions.

Addressing rumors of discord between herself, the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), and Muhoozi, Nameere dismissed these reports. She suggested that her firm stance against corruption might have been misinterpreted or used by certain individuals to sow division.

Nameere emphasized that her support for Muhoozi’s presidential campaign is more than just a symbolic declaration. She believes his bid will necessitate a well-defined vision, a compelling message, and a concrete strategy for garnering public support.

She reiterated her consistent backing of Muhoozi, positioning herself as one of the initial figures to recognize what she terms his competence and foresight for Uganda’s future.
