Buganda Kingdom Extends Condolences on Passing of Agnes Ndagire Ssenkubuge

The Buganda Kingdom has expressed profound sadness and offered condolences following the death of Agnes Lillian Ndagire Ssenkubuge. Her husband, veteran actor Charles James Ssenkubuge, and their entire family are in the thoughts of the Kingdom.

Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga conveyed the Kingdom’s sympathies via the Minister for Information, Mobilisation and Kingdom Spokesperson, Israel Kazibwe Kitooke. Mayiga described Agnes’s passing as “heartbreaking” and specifically extended comfort to her mother, Mary Margaret Kiddukanya Nsubuga. He acknowledged the profound grief of losing a devoted daughter, especially one who provided care in her elderly years.

The Katikkiro also recognized the strength of Agnes’s mother, who has faced multiple bereavements, including the loss of other children and her husband, praying for divine fortitude during this challenging time. Condolences were also extended to Agnes’s sister, Fortunate Bintubizibu, with whom Mayiga shared a past connection from their time at St Mary’s College Kisubi.

Paying tribute to Agnes, Mayiga highlighted her deep commitment to her faith and her active participation in church music. He noted her talent in singing and her role in the choir for the 4 p.m. Mass, celebrating her life and service to others. The Katikkiro expressed gratitude for the time Agnes was given to impact lives positively.

Charles James Ssenkubuge, alongside the family represented by Defence Minister Kiryowa Kiwanuka, expressed their heartfelt thanks to friends, relatives, and well-wishers. They appreciated the unwavering support, prayers, and presence offered throughout Agnes’s illness and during their period of mourning.

Agnes Lillian Ndagire Ssenkubuge was respectfully laid to rest after a funeral Mass conducted by Monsignor Gerald Kalumba at Sanda Nakawuka, Busiro County.
