Bugisu Kingdom Throws Weight Behind Salam TV's Omumanyi Competition

The Omukuuku of Bugisu, His Majesty Jude Mike Mudoma, has warmly welcomed Salam TV to the region, offering his endorsement for the “Omumanyi wa Salam TV” competition.

This development comes as the Eastern Region finals of the seventh edition of the competition are set to take place on October 3, 2026, at the Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) Main Campus in Mbale.

A delegation from Salam TV, led by Managing Director Hajji Karim Kaliisa, paid a courtesy visit to the Omukuuku at his residence to formalize their presence and seek his support.

Hajji Kaliisa highlighted Salam TV and Salam Charity’s commitment to community mobilization and development, explaining that the Omumanyi competition serves as a platform to deepen public knowledge across various aspects of life, including religion, education, and culture.

He further elaborated on Salam Charity’s past humanitarian efforts in Mbale, such as supporting mosque construction and providing resources to local leaders and imams, underscoring their dedication to improving livelihoods.

In his response, Omukuuku Mudoma lauded Salam TV’s work, stating that it aligns perfectly with the strategic goals of Bugisu Kingdom and contributes significantly to community advancement. He expressed his pleasure at the values promoted by Salam TV, which mirror those of the Bugisu Kingdom.

“The work you are doing of serving humanity and supporting development is what the Kingdom needs,” Mudoma stated, officially welcoming the team and assuring them of his “all support and blessings.”

The monarch further proposed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Bugisu Kingdom and Salam TV to formalize their collaboration.

The meeting concluded with the presentation of the Omumanyi wa Salam TV guidebook to the Omukuuku and a group photograph, signifying a strong partnership ahead of the finals.
