JB Halera: From Chef to Social Media Entrepreneur Driving Ugandan Development

Johnbosco Halera, also recognized as JB Halera, is a dynamic force in Uganda, employing entrepreneurship, vocational training, and social media to foster transformation across the nation. Halera, who possesses a diverse skill set including being a chef, fashion designer, tailor, and businessman, is the visionary behind JB’s Fashion School and Conc Dairy Farm, among other ventures.

His commitment to national development began in 2012 after the loss of his father. Halera shared on Salam TV’s “Transform Uganda” show that he immediately immersed himself in work, driven by a strong purpose to uplift his country. A cornerstone of his work is equipping Ugandans with tailoring skills. His fashion school has successfully trained hundreds, many of whom have launched their own businesses and achieved financial independence.

Halera emphasizes that his efforts have garnered support from various regions within Uganda. As a way of giving back, he is currently mentoring ten young men from different parts of the country, providing them with essential skills to enable them to establish businesses and contribute to the development of their respective communities.

A seasoned social media user since 2007, Halera views platforms like Facebook as powerful tools for business promotion and building success stories, notably for his fashion school.

Branching into agriculture, Halera established Conc Dairy Farm, inspired by his brothers’ farming enterprises. He is now planning to open a farming skilling center to further support the agricultural sector.

To bolster farmers, he founded JB’s Team 100 Modern Farmers SACCO, which facilitates savings and collective problem-solving within the farming community, addressing issues like the scarcity of veterinary services.

Halera remains dedicated to his mission, encouraging Ugandans to eschew unproductive competition and focus on building lasting legacies.
