Uganda Aims to Attract 15,000 French Tourists Next Year

Uganda is actively working to significantly increase its appeal to French travelers, setting a target of hosting up to 15,000 visitors from France in the next year. This strategic push comes after a notable rise in French tourism in 2025, with arrivals more than doubling to 7,439, positioning France as one of Uganda’s most important European source markets.

The country is banking on its reputation as a secure and unique travel destination. Officials believe that Uganda offers experiences that go beyond the typical tourist routes often associated with neighboring East African countries like Kenya and Tanzania, aiming to attract a discerning and growing French market.

The Ugandan Embassy in France has been instrumental in promoting the country’s tourism potential. Efforts are underway to highlight Uganda’s diverse attractions, including its renowned gorilla trekking, vibrant culture, and stunning landscapes, differentiating it from more established safari circuits.

This initiative aims to further diversify Uganda’s tourism offerings and attract a higher volume of international visitors. By focusing on markets like France, Uganda seeks to bolster its tourism sector, contributing to economic growth and showcasing the country’s rich natural and cultural heritage on a global stage.
