Uganda Airlines Influence by Britain Alleged by Aviation Expert

Aviation professional Yusuf Mpoza has put forward a striking claim regarding the continued influence of Britain over Uganda Airlines. Mpoza, who possesses both Ugandan and British citizenship and boasts 35 years of experience in the UK aviation industry, suggested that passenger restrictions imposed on the national carrier represent a form of indirect control.

Mpoza, who began his aviation career as an aircraft cleaner after relocating to Britain in 1991, shared these insights during an appearance on Salam TV’s “Omukeeze” program. He drew a parallel between past instances of travelers misusing asylum policies and current international aviation policies.

According to Mpoza, these historical practices led to stricter visa regulations. He extended this line of reasoning to the aviation sector, asserting that even after Uganda’s independence, certain limitations, such as capping the number of passengers allowed on Uganda Airlines flights, serve to maintain a level of indirect influence by British authorities.

Beyond aviation, Mpoza, who also serves as a representative for the Mufti of Uganda in Britain, commented on the increasing presence of Islam in Europe. He attributed this growth to effective Muslim leadership and active participation in public life, citing the example of Muslim mayors who have fostered a better understanding of the religion among Europeans.

Mpoza argued that such leadership effectively challenges negative stereotypes and showcases the positive contributions of Muslims to European societies. He concluded by advising Ugandans to show respect for religious leaders and to address personal shortcomings privately rather than publicly, emphasizing the limited benefit of public criticism.
