The inaugural Captain’s Putter golf tournament is set to tee off at Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort and Spa, promising a fusion of challenging amateur golf and sophisticated social networking. Spearheading the premium hospitality aspect is the Johnnie Walker Blue Club, which will transform the traditional 19th-hole experience into a luxurious social hub.
The event, scheduled for Saturday, September 26, is hosted by Lake Victoria Serena Golf Club Captain Jimmy Mugerwa, who also chairs the Uganda Breweries Limited Board. Mugerwa will officially commence the tournament at midday with a ceremonial tee-off on Hole Three, marked by a whisky toast.
While the competition on the course is a focal point, organizers emphasize that the Captain’s Putter is designed to be an immersive experience. The Johnnie Walker Blue Club will provide a refined setting for golfers and guests to relax, connect, and network after their rounds, complemented by music and engaging conversations.
Mugerwa expressed his excitement for the inaugural event, highlighting its potential to unite golfers, friends, and members of the business community. “We are looking forward to a great day on the course, but also to creating an experience that goes beyond the golf,” Mugerwa stated, aiming for participants to leave with “great memories of the day.”
