Tragic poisoning: A child's revenge plot turned deadly

A horrific incident has shaken a small village in western Uganda, where a two-year-old child was fatally poisoned by her 10-year-old stepbrother. The young boy, reportedly acting on a malicious plan, administered poison with the intent of causing his stepmother to leave his father.

The tragedy unfolded within a complex family dynamic. The perpetrator’s mother, Esther, had a child, Mumbere, from a previous relationship with John. After their separation, Esther moved to Kampala, leaving Mumbere with her sister, Margaret. Meanwhile, John had since entered a relationship with Mary, and they had two daughters, Masika and Biira.

Seeking to return to John, Esther allegedly devised a cruel scheme. Believing that the removal of Mary’s children would prompt Mary to leave John, Esther’s plan involved her own son, Mumbere. Margaret, Esther’s sister, purchased poison and instructed Mumbere, her nephew, to carry out the deadly act against his stepsisters.

The investigation into this deeply disturbing case is ongoing, highlighting the devastating consequences of complex family disputes and the tragic loss of innocent lives. The community is left reeling from the shock and sorrow of this unspeakable crime.
