Zari Hassan Sets the Record Straight on Her Birth Year

Zari Hassan, a prominent socialite and businesswoman, has addressed persistent rumors surrounding her age, firmly asserting that she was born in 1980. This declaration follows the circulation of a leaked passport that indicated her birth year as 1978, sparking considerable online discussion.

During an interview with Sanyuka TV, coinciding with her 46th birthday, Zari explained the discrepancy. She acknowledged that the leaked document presented a different birth year but clarified that it was not her actual birth year. Zari stated that she intentionally altered her birth year on certain migration documents when she moved to South Africa.

“I’m 46. I know people keep arguing about my age, saying I’m older than that. My leaked passport showed a different year, but everyone has their own way of obtaining their migration papers when they go outside Uganda. I had to change my birth year for that,” she explained.

She emphasized that 1980 is her true year of birth and that the altered information on the passport was a procedural matter related to her documentation for settling in South Africa. Zari’s straightforward clarification aims to put an end to the speculation regarding her age.
