The Kabale Diocese is abuzz with activity as it prepares to welcome its new shepherd, Monsignor Bosco Bonaventure Gubazire. The historic ordination ceremony is scheduled for this Saturday, marking a significant moment for the local Catholic community. Monsignor Gubazire will succeed the Most Rev. Callistus Rubaramira, who has led the diocese for the past 23 years.
Rev. Fr. Dr. John Vianney Sunday, chairman of the organizing committee, confirmed that preparations have reached an advanced stage. “Everything is now set for the ceremony,” he stated, assuring that all crucial arrangements are in place.
The event is anticipated to draw a crowd of over 2,000 attendees, with President Yoweri Museveni expected to be among the distinguished guests. Security measures are reported to be stringent, with all relevant authorities duly notified.
Adding to the solemnity and joy of the occasion, a choir of 150 choristers, selected from across the diocese, has been rehearsing diligently. “We will sing hymns that are well known to many Christians, but this time with great improvement,” shared one of the choir leaders, Anaclet Musobyimana.
Monsignor Bosco Gubazire, a member of the Missionary Fathers congregation, is set to become the fifth Bishop of Kabale Diocese, ushering in a new chapter for its faithful.
