Candidates facing upcoming Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE), Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE), and Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) are being alerted to a growing scam involving fake exam papers. The Acting Minister of Education and Sports, Dr. JC Muyingo, has cautioned students against believing any examination materials circulated on social media platforms, emphasizing that these are the work of fraudsters.

Dr. Muyingo clarified that these individuals are impersonating the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) to deceive unsuspecting students. He stressed that anyone who falls prey to these scams will face significant repercussions. The Minister reassured students that authentic examination papers are securely held by UNEB and will be delivered to examination centers in sealed packages only on the scheduled examination dates.

This warning was conveyed through the Minister of State for Kampala, Joseph Kabuye Kyofatogabye, during dedication prayers for Senior Four and Senior Six candidates at Kakoola High School in Luweero District. Kyofatogabye echoed the call for focus, urging students to concentrate on their studies and avoid distractions, particularly encouraging female students to safeguard their future by staying dedicated to their education.

Parents were also commended for their support in preparing students for their future. Additionally, a call was made to ensure children are exposed to local languages as a crucial part of their identity, alongside learning English. Examination timetables indicate that UCE exams commence October 8th, PLE on October 30th, and UACE on November 7th, 2026. Authorities continue to urge candidates to rely solely on official UNEB communications.
