Hotel Africana solidified their position as leaders in the Corporate Sports Network (CSN) swimming circuit, successfully retaining their individual and mixed relay championship titles for the 2026 season.

The team’s dominance was evident throughout the competition, culminating in a commanding victory in the 4x25m mixed relays. Despite facing fierce challenges from rivals like Roofings and Equity Bank, Africana’s strategic lineup changes and impressive individual performances secured their win.

In the mixed relays final, Africana’s Enos Kizza and Plaxida Nakabanda swam exceptional legs, with Nakabanda making a crucial overtake in the final metres to secure the lead. This momentum carried through to Akram Atuhaire and captain Jacob Mugisha, who sealed the victory with a time of 00:54:34. Roofings secured silver, while Centenary Bank took bronze.

Individually, Plaxida Nakabanda successfully defended her women’s 25m freestyle gold medal, clocking in at 00:15:54. In the men’s 25m freestyle, Equity Bank’s Mwambala Balikuddembe claimed gold, pushing Centenary Bank’s Silver Ogwang to silver. Notably, several top performers from the previous year’s Bankers Gala, including Ogwang and Mary Akello (dfcu), earned silver medals in this highly competitive edition.

The competition saw increased competitiveness compared to the previous year, with many swimmers expressing satisfaction with the accurate timing system. Hotel Africana’s performance highlights their sustained strength and strategic approach in corporate swimming events.
