Popular media personality Isaac Katende, better known as Kasuku, has strongly refuted claims of receiving regular government funding. He maintains that his financial stability comes from his personal endeavors and hard work.

In a recent interview with a local YouTuber, Kasuku clarified that he operates independently and manages his finances based on his own budget. He acknowledged receiving a single sum of Shs1 million from President Yoweri Museveni, which he described as a refund for transportation expenses incurred after hosting the “Jazz with Jajja” event.

“I have never received money from the government. I am a hardworking person who makes personal cash. I survive on my own budget,” Kasuku stated. “So far, the money from the government I have received in my life is the Shs1 million, which was given to me for a transport refund when I met the President.”

Kasuku also mentioned that he, along with other bloggers and YouTubers, is anticipating the fulfillment of a reported Shs5 billion pledge from President Museveni aimed at supporting online content creators. This statement comes at a time when discussions surrounding government initiatives and funding opportunities for Uganda’s digital media landscape are ongoing.
