Mityana District Chairperson Joseph Luzige has called for calm among residents who are increasingly frustrated with the poor condition of the district’s roads, especially as the rainy season exacerbates the problem.

Luzige urged the community to exercise patience and engage with local leaders through peaceful and constructive channels. He acknowledged the significant challenges faced by those using the roads, which become difficult to navigate and often impassable during periods of heavy rainfall.

“I appeal to residents experiencing challenges because of the poor state of their roads to remain calm and avoid anything that could incite tension among community members,” Luzige stated. He emphasized the importance of channeling grievances through the appropriate authorities to ensure they are addressed without compromising peace and security.

The deteriorating road conditions significantly disrupt daily life, hindering access to essential services and daily activities for many in Mityana.

Luzige encouraged a collaborative approach, urging residents to work closely with local leaders to articulate their concerns and seek interventions. He stressed that confrontations would likely worsen the situation.

The district leadership has assured the public that they are committed to engaging with relevant stakeholders to address these pressing concerns and improve road infrastructure for better access and services.
