In the bustling transport sector of Jinja City, most commercial motorcycle riders opt for dark or heavy-duty clothing to shield themselves from dust and engine grease. However, 50-year-old Joseph Okongo is challenging this norm with an extraordinary daily routine that has earned him both local fame and a unique moniker.

Operating his boda-boda along Jinja Main Street near Biasara Supermarket, right opposite the Jinja Central Police Station, Mr Okongo has made all-white attire his signature trademark. Every single day, he turns up for work dressed completely in white, capturing the admiration of passengers, pedestrians, and fellow riders alike.

This distinct sartorial choice has led to him being affectionately dubbed “Doctor” by the local community. While white clothing is notoriously difficult to keep clean in the dusty environment of urban transport stages, Okongo’s dedication to his pristine look stands out as a symbol of professionalism and discipline.

Beyond just turning heads, his unique presentation has helped him build a strong reputation for reliability among his clientele in Jinja City. In an industry often associated with disorganization, Okongo’s striking appearance sets a memorable standard for personal presentation.
