VisionFund Uganda recently celebrated its milestone 30th anniversary, marking three decades of dedicated service in expanding financial inclusion and transforming communities across the country. The grand celebration took place at the Sheraton Kampala Hotel, drawing a gathering of government officials, corporate leaders, stakeholders, and beneficiaries.

The event was held under the inspiring theme: “30 Years of Impact and Transformation: Advancing Bold, Innovative Financial Inclusion, Building Brighter Futures for Children.” Since its inception in 1996, the institution has focused on providing accessible financial services and loans primarily to parents and guardians, enabling them to expand small businesses, boost household incomes, and invest securely in their children’s futures.

State Minister for Finance Shatsi Kuteesa Musasizi presided over the anniversary event. During the celebration, Minister Musasizi lauded the organisation for its significant contributions to community development and the overall economic well-being of Ugandan citizens. She further pledged continued government backing and collaboration to support similar developmental initiatives.

Mercy Sande Ainomugisha, the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of VisionFund Uganda, expressed profound gratitude to the government for maintaining an enabling environment over the last thirty years. She reaffirmed the organisation’s dedication to deepening its partnership with the state while scaling up financial inclusion strategies to reach even more vulnerable households.

Throughout the ceremony, various beneficiaries shared inspiring testimonials regarding how VisionFund’s credit programmes helped them overcome financial hurdles, grow enterprises, and secure better education and livelihoods for their dependents. Looking ahead, the organisation intends to leverage bold and innovative approaches to economic empowerment for families nationwide. Read more details on the Nile Post.
