The Bishop of Mukono Diocese, the Rev. Enos Kitto Kagodo, has introduced a series of major clergy transfers and fresh administrative appointments that will impact archdeaconries, parishes, and schools throughout the region. The announcements were officially made during the 67th Diocesan Council meeting hosted at St. Philip and Andrew’s Cathedral in Mukono.

Scheduled to take effect in January 2027, the reshuffle includes several notable leadership swaps. Ven. Charles Bukenya is moving from Bukoba Archdeaconry to Mpumu, while Ven. Christopher Kezaala transitions in the opposite direction from Mpumu to Bukoba. In addition to his archdeaconry duties in Bukoba, Ven. Kezaala will take on the role of Principal of the Bible College.

In recognition of their dedicated service, three church leaders have been elevated to the esteemed position of Canons. The newly appointed canons are Ven. Kenneth Kampi Lukwago, Ven. Christopher Kezaala, and Rev. Yosam Ssemukuye Kintu. Furthermore, Bishop Kagodo granted one-year service contracts to retired Archdeacons Ven. Canon Titus Baraka Ssali and Ven. Canon Ignatius Bongere Kabuuka, enabling them to continue ministering in the Bbaale and Kangulumira archdeaconries, respectively.

The sweeping changes extend down to vicars and assistant vicars across multiple church stations, touching areas such as Buvuma, Galiraya, Seeta, Lugazi, Njeru, Nakanyonyi, Buikwe, and Kiwanga. In other administrative updates, Israel Nkangi has stepped in as the new Diocesan Scouts and Guides Coordinator, succeeding Stanley Magala.

Alongside the personnel changes, Bishop Kagodo unveiled the diocesan theme for 2027, anchored on 1 Corinthians 4:1–2: “Focused Leadership and Integrity in Serving God.” The leadership emphasized that the reshuffle aims to bolster pastoral care, enhance accountability, and strengthen overall service delivery as the diocese prepares for the upcoming ministry calendar. Bishop Kagodo noted that the transfer process remains ongoing, with additional announcements expected soon.
