The popular FM Radio station in Kampala and for that case in Buganda has been allowed to operate after being off air for thirteen months. CBS FM Radio that broadcasts on signals 89.2 and 88.8 was put off air by the broadcasting council last September after mayhem broke out on the streets of Kampala and other parts for stopping the Buganda  Katikiro from going to Bugerere.

Today is indeed a special day for Buganda after the ICT Minister Aggrey Awori said the radio may now resume its operations. The employees have been to court on several occasions suing government over their salaries, loans and other benefits that were affected as a result of the time the radio has been off air, a case that is up to now not resolved.

Popular presenters like Kato Lubwama have remained very popular in their advert jingos like "Its not Wolokoso, It's a Kika" even after their source of earnings were blocked, they were able to resist to the move financially. Some even left the country too pursue greener pastures.

Listeners, Buganda loyalists, fans of the radio could not hide their excitement after the confiscated equipment was handed back to the owners and allowed to go back on air. They camped at Bulange Mengo and will only leave after the radio starts broadcasting.

The Radio is to go back on air any minute from now after replacing some parts and minor repairs to some of the parts that had generated dust in the past one year.
