Mandela National Stadium will be very busy on the 25th and 26 Oct, 2010 which are the dates set for the presidential & parliamentary nominations in which the current President and the FDC Leader will be nominated. The exercise will kick off at 10:00am and end at 4:00pm on both days.
7,500 signatures were a requirement from the presidential candidates which is 100 signatures from at least 75 districts and will only be accompanied by twenty supporters to the venue. Monday and Tuesday are going to be hectic days for motorists around the Namboole Stadium as these candidates will have supporters waiting to cheer them up.
In 1996, Presidential elections were held and President Museveni won by 74.3% followed by the 2001 Presidential Elections in which he won by 69%. The President again took the 2006 vote by 59%. The 2011, Presidential Elections will be held on 18 February, 2011.
