The city has been very busy with supporters of various presidential candidates plying all corners after various candidates were nominated to run for President. The incumbent was the first one to be nominated at 10:00am after his papers were approved by the Electoral Commission with Eng. Badru Kiggundu acting as a returning officer.

At 11:00am the President of People's Progressive Party, Jaberi Bidandi Ssali also Bebe Cool's father was nominated. Shortly after J.B Ssali, the President for the Forum for Democratic Change also representing IPC was nominated.

The only lady in the race Ms Olive Betty Kamya Namisango running under the Uganda Federal Alliance appeared a few minutes to one to be nominated. She said "I am not just a woman candidate but the maternal instinct of caring for other people makes me a unique candidate"

At 3:00pm Democratic Party's Nobert Mao and wife Naome appeared. The photos he submitted had one ear so the returning officer allowed him to bring better photos as he also got nominated.

On Tuesday, UPC'S Olara Otunnu, PDP'S Abed Bwanika plus Drake Ssebunya an independent candidate are expected to show up for nominations. The campaigns kick off on Oct 28 and will go on until February 16, 2011 which will be two days to the polling day.
