Olara Otunnu Discharged from Nakasongola Hospital

Dr. Olara Otunnu was discharged today and straight on headed to the Northern Uganda for several campaigns which wind up on 16.Feb.2011. Uganda will decide on who the next President will be this Friday and the candidates are the Incumbent President Y.K Museveni, Olara Otunnu, Abed Bwanika, Norbert Mao, Col. Kiiza Besigye, Bidandi Sali and Sam Lubega.

Otunnu's driver sustained a deep cut on the head while his persaonl guard had a cut below his eye. The medical personnel confirmed that Olara Otunnu was fine but with some mild pain.

The campaign period has been generally peaceful with isolated cases of violence reported to police as compared to the 2006 elections which had more cases of political violence.

Meanwhile, the Inspector General of Police, Gen. Kale Kayihura has not ruled out the deployment of the military should the polls turn violent.
