In the wee hours of Sunday morning at 12:40am, the Chairman Electoral Commission Eng. Badru Kiggundu took to the table to release the first batch of the official results.

The army has deployed heavily on the streets and it will not take any chances just in case violence breaks out. Kampala is still calm but police and the army have assured the public that they can take control of any situation.
The DPC who was hit on the head early in the day is still bleeding from the ears and the nose following a scuffle between supporters of Beatrice Wabudeyea and Nandala Mafabi, short of that, the voting exercise have been generally peaceful.
