Thursday, May 12, 2011 has been made a public holiday to allow Ugandans follow the proceedings of the Presidential swearing in ceremony. The function will be held at Kololo Airstrip.

Uganda's Presidential elections were held on February 18, 2011 and the incumbent emerged the winner followed by Dr. Kizza Besigye who has lost the poll three times in a row. A few weeks back, he started the walk-to-work campaign together with other opposition activists that led to his arrest more than twice.

The last time he was arrested, his eyes were affected in the proces. He was later flown to Nairobi for further medical attention. He will now come back on Wednesday at 9:00am aboard a Kenyan Airways flight no 410.

According to the FDC Vice President Salaam Musumba, they will use cars to welcome back their leader who has been under going treatment for various ailments. They will make a stop over at Najjanakumbi and then proceed to Kansangati via town.

The Monitor newspaper has reports that Government has offered to airlift Dr. Besigye from Entebbe Airport to his home in Kansagati so that his supporters do not disrupt the flow of traffic most especially from the 13 Presidents who have confirmed that they will attend.
