Dr. Kizza Besigye had finished checking in and ready to board before officers from Kenyan Airways approached him saying that they had got instructions from Ugandan Authorities that if the plane took off with him on board, it would not be allowed to land at Entebbe Airport.

The opposition leader was expected back in the country on Wednesday morning after treatment in Nairobi. The Ugandan police had promised him protection with at least two escort vehicles and was free to address his supporters at from two locations and then proceed for prayers at Nsambya sharing hall.

Anne Mugisha has confirmed that "KB is indeed in the VIP lounge at Jomo Kenyatta Airport demanding that Kenya Airways puts in writing their decision to refuse him to board the aircraft"

Kenya Airways has now confirmed that it denied Dr. Kizza Besigye after receiving information that it was not "safe to fly him on our flight"

The Uganda government through the Internal Affairs Minister Kirunda Kivenjinja has denied that communication saying that it cannot be true. “If we managed to allow him to leave, how can we stop him from coming back? We had all the powers to stop him from going there after all,” the Minister said.
