It is a colourful ceremony at Kololo Airstrip as President Museveni prepares to swear in for his forth term as president of Uganda. He arrived at the venue at 11:00am with the first lady. Several Presidents have honoured the invitation.
The race had eight presidential candidates but only Abed Bwanika was present at the time the Electoral Commission Chairman Badru Kiggundu made his speech. Justice Benjamin Odoki was presented the winner of the 2011 presidential Elections to be sworn in as the President for the Republic of Uganda at exactly 12:18pm.
The President was sworn in two minutes later as the crowd in the background cheered him on. He later put pen on paper as the first lady looked on. But as all this was going on several people were lined up on Entebbe road to greet and meet Dr. Besigye who was making his way to Kampala with a huge crowd.
By 12:06pm Dr. Kizza Besigye's crowd was around Nkumba University but it is not clear when they will make their way to Nsambya sharing hall where he will be addressing the press.
M7 Sworn-In as Besigye Heads to Kampala - It was a public holiday and this was the best decision because with the activities that paralysed Entebbe road, it could have been a disaster for residents and business in that part of the city.
Opposition Leader Makes His way to Kampala - The Opposition Leader was able to get to Nsambya Sharing Hall at a few minutes to 7pm together with his supporters who engaged police and the military the whole day.
