Today has been a day of yellow vs blue. Kololo Airstrip had most people clad in yellow which is the same statement made by the President's neck tie and on the other side of town were supporters of Besigye of course some clad in blue like the shirt he is putting on, holding his posters as they welcomed him from Kenya where he was for several hours after his travel plans were thwarted.
It was the same day that marked the launch of the National ID and the President was the first one to get his and he used this opportunity to tell whoever was present that while you are happy about the card, this card will be helpful in detecting those FDC people who vote twice.
On the other hand, Besigye and his convoy together with his supporters have been making their way to Kampala for the last several hours and they are not yet there whereas the President arrived at Kololo Airstrip and an hour later he was being sworn in and by 2:30pm they were making their way to Entebbe State House for lunch.
Military police has been firing live bullets to disperse supporters of Besigye who have engaged police and the military for a greater part of the day.
It is not clear whether he will get to Nsambya Sharing Hall where he is supposed to address his supporters but areas before the FDC Offices in Najjanakumbi are a bee hive of activity with his supporters waiting for him.
