Nabila Nanfuka and the club where she met her death
A Ugandan student Nabila Nanfuka (22) of the University of Northampton pursuing a Leisure and Tourism course died yesterday at Lava and Ignite. Nanfuka was part of the university students who had come to attend the event dubbed Wickedest Wickedest at Lava and Ignite with an estimated sitting capacity of up to 600. It is however not clear how many students were in the hall at the time.

According to an eye witness one Adetula who was also a friend to Ms. Nanfuka told the BBC: "It was a uni night and they had come from all over. It was so busy that some had to go to another club nearby." He said there was an announcement that signalled the end of the night, which forced club-goers towards the exits.

He said: "It was 'everybody the coaches are leaving, make your way to the exits' so everyone went for the exits. "Then next minute the fire alarm went off and everyone started panicking "There was obviously a stampede of people in there when the fire alarm went off."

As Nabila tried to head to the exit door, she lost a step and as told by Kat Thompson who was in attendance; "She got trampled on at a rave last nite selfish ppl didn't give her a chance to get bk up when she fell over"

She was taken to hospital and that is where she died from. Nabila was a Ugandan based in the UK.
