Uganda is the Best Tourist Destination for the year 2012

Qatar Airways Now Flies to Entebbe, Uganda

Uganda has been ranked the number one destination for tourists for the year 2012 by Lonely Planet which is the largest travel guide and media publisher in the world. Myanmar, Ukraine, Jordan, Denmark, Bhutan, Cuba, New Caledonia, Taiwan and Switzerland followed in that order.

A team from Lonely Planet together with other bloggers and expert travelers came up with this list of the top ten countries for the year 2012. Topicality, excitement, value and that special X-factor were among the values the team considered to come up with the list.

A week after the Lonely Planet awarded Uganda the award of the Best travel Destination for the year 2012, Qatar Airways a five star airline Qatar Airways launched it's services in Uganda.

"I would like to thank the Ugandan government and officials at Entebbe International Airport for the warm welcome and supporting our newest route launch. Passenger demand prompted this new route and I am excited that we are able to bring our award-winning Five Star service to Uganda for the first time." Said Qatar Airways CEO Akbar Al Baker.
