The best places for shopping in Kampala to ensure that you get quality products have been lined up for you. Most of these shopping centres can exchange items especially electronics in case they turn out to be faulty, have customer rewards programmes and ample free parking. However, you are advised not to leave valuables in the car.
Game Discount Store - Located at Lugogo Shopping Mall is ideal for local and international quality products, publishes a product price list in the dailies to make you plan better and very reliable when it comes to replacing faulty items though you must have an original receipt.
Shoprite - The branch on Ben Kiwanuka street is conveniently located for those using mini buses for public transport and another branch is on Lugogo Mall, the same complex housing Game Discount Store making it a favourable shopping spot.
Uchumi - Is it a bakery that you are looking for, stationery or electronics? All these plus many more items can be found under one roof on Yusuf Lule road next to Nakumatt Oasis, they also opened another branch at Freedom City on Entebbe road but closed after a short period. Nakumatt - Looking for beds, furniture, leather products plus a lot more assortment of quality local and international products, then you can try this supermarket which is open 24 hours, with a customer rewards programme.
Quality Supermarket - Back in the days it used to have one branch in Old Kampala but now this local supermarket is clearly giving the international supermarkets a run for their money with branches in Ntinda and Lubowa, they also have bonus cards. No worries with touring the whole place as there is a conveyor belt from the lower floor to the next one.
Capital Shoppers - With their latest Capital Shoppers branch at Garden City which has also joined the several 'cities' in town gives you a totally different shopping experience. Shop while you exercise in the process cutting on your gym costs now that there is no conveyor belt. Restaurants, Banks, Hair Salons, pharmacies and so on can be found on this complex
Tuskys - The first outlet is in Ntinda with another just opened recently right opposite Makerere University is one of a kind. On top of what you find in a supermarket, they have food ranging from posho, matooke, beans, meat chips and the usual chicken. This works wonders for many especially single folks out there who are in a rush with no time to prepare a descent meal.
Kenjoy - Known for closing by 9:00pm so after that you might not find the supermarket open. One tricky item in these supermarkets has been toilet rolls but this particular supermarket is known for stocking U&Me toilet rolls which are not very easy to beat when it comes to quality. The last time we checked, it had run out though.
Embassy Supermarket - On your way to Kansanga after the American Embassy where it derives it's name is very ideal for Kasanga and Muyenga residents who might choose to take a break from the jam to chill off while shopping.
Super Supermarket - Located in Bukoto with two floors of both local and international products.
