Kampala Metropolitan police boss Andrew Kaweesi holding Dr.Kizza Besigye after the arrest
FDC leader Kizza Besigye will today remain at his home in Kasangati following the death of the Assistant Inspector of Police JB Ariong (48). He was part of the police officers who had been deployed to contain Activists for Change (A4C) leaders along Ben Kiwanuka Street.

He was hit by a hard rock and died on his way to hospital. According to Ms Nabokooba; "The 48-year-old served in the force for 26 years and died en route to hospital having been hit by a rock on his head."

Ariong left behind a wife and eight children. Investigations are still underway and those behind the death of the police officer will be dealt with sternly, said the Deputy Police Spokesperson Judith Nabakooba.
