Sections of Kampala were yesterday paralysed as the Kibuli based Muslim faction matched to Old Kampala mosque but the police was quick at quelling the situation.

The Kibuli faction was yesterday led by Sheikh Nuuhu Muzaata at about 3pm as they matched to Old Kampala demanding an equal share of the Gadaffi Mosque. Senior police officers were seen pleading with them not to proceed but they did not pay attention.

Anti Riot Police with the help of the Military Police fired teargas and bullets in the sky to disperse the huge crowd that was chanting Allahu Akbar as they made their way to the Gadaffi Mosque in Old Kampala.

One person was seriously injured on the head though some sections of the media put it that he later passed on. The Muslim Council elections will be held today at 2pm.
